Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
The Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) allows individuals to visit Australia temporarily for tourism, business, or to visit family.It’s suitable for those not eligible for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or eVisitor visa.

Visa Streams
The Subclass 600 visa comprises several streams:
Tourist Stream
- Purpose: For holidays, recreation, or visiting family and friends.
- Application: Can be applied for from outside or within Australia.
- Stay Duration: Up to 12 months.
Tourist Stream
- Applying from outside Australia: AUD 195
- Applying from within Australia: AUD 490
Sponsored Family Stream
- Purpose: For visiting family in Australia.
- Requirements: Requires sponsorship by an eligible Australian citizen or permanent resident; a security bond may be requested.
- Application: Must be applied for from outside Australia.
- Stay Duration: Up to 12 months.
- Cost: AUD 145
Business Visitor Stream
- Purpose: For short business visits, such as attending conferences or meetings.
- Stay Duration: Up to 3 months.
- Cost: AUD 145 Frequent Traveller Stream
- Purpose: For citizens of the People's Republic of China making frequent visits.
- Stay Duration: Up to 10 years validity, with stays of up to 3 months per visit.
- Cost: AUD 1,435
General Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid passport.
- Demonstrate genuine intent to stay temporarily.
- Have sufficient funds for the duration of the stay.
- Meet health and character requirements.
- Provide evidence of ties to home country (e.g., employment, family).
